  • Live. Intimate. Unfiltered.

The Extended Plays (EPs) is a live performance and conversation series dedicated to exploring the artist and the creative processes behind their music.

At its core, The EPs exist to slow down music coverage, move away from surface-level promotion and to document music in a way that feels as considered as the work itself. With authenticity at the forefront of every conversation, we work to create a space where artists can speak without restraint — where conversation is not shaped by expectation, but by intention.

  • The way something is recorded shapes how it’s understood and remembered. At The EPs, production is intentionally stripped back to create an intimate setting that prioritizes artist comfort and authenticity.

Sessions take place without a live audience and are captured in thoughtfully selected, cozy spaces — allowing each recording to feel grounded rather than staged.

With a minimalist approach and flexible structure, artist performances are relaxed and conversations unfold with depth — resulting in a session that feels considered, not constructed.

  • Each Extended Plays session pairs stripped-back performances with in-depth dialogue between host Sofia Dawson and the performing artist — creating space to unpack the meaning, process, and stories behind the work.

Structured as a complete project rather than a standalone performance, each episode weaves together 3 live songs with 3 interwoven interview segments, framed by a brief opening and closing moment.

Each conversation explores a different layer — from origin and meaning, to production and collaboration, to reflection and what comes next. The result is a 25–35 minute narrative experience, paced and structured like an EP, designed to be listened to as one.

  • Artists

The EPs offers a space to present work without rush — where music can be performed live and contextualized through real conversation.

    Audience
For listeners who want more than just the final product — those interested in the stories, process, and people behind the music.

    Emerging Creatives
As a student-led initiative, The EPs also functions as a collaborative creative lab — bringing together talent across music, journalism, audio, video, and photography to produce work that is both experiential and industry-facing.
